About this OpportunityAs a member of a multidisciplinary team, the position of Research Technician will support the ongoing analysis of imagery that provide the monitoring data underpinning a considerable number of AIMS projects.
This position will provide the essential skills and knowledge required to contribute to the timely post-processing and documentation of underwater imagery from BRUV's, ROV, AUV, and towed video to assess fish diversity, abundance, and size, and identify fish and benthic community composition from both tropical and temperate regions of Australia.
This position will participate in the planning and undertaking of field work at remote sites nationally, including field data collection activities if required.
The position will also be responsible for performing QA/QC of the data and metadata obtained and will contribute to reporting requirements to meet project deadlines.

AOF Level 3 Salary ($68,759 to $77,477 per annum) plus 15.4% superannuationGenerous leave provisionsFull-time, three (3) year fixed-term position appointed via our labour hire arrangementLocated in Perth, Western AustraliaAbout YouYou will hold a bachelor's degree in marine science or a related field that underpins your skills and experience in analysing underwater imagery from BRUV's, ROV, AUV, and towed video for the collection of accurate fish and benthic community metrics.
You will have excellent attention to detail and time management skills and will be an enthusiastic and resourceful team player.
You will also be able to demonstrate your:
