The Role: We are currently looking for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the team at Peter Arney Home in Salter Point.
This role is a permanent part-time position working 23 hours per fortnight.
Week 1 Friday: 1000 - 1630
Week 2 Friday: 1000 - 1630
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and assist fellow OTA staff to conduct resident activities and outings correctly and safelyEnsure records, statistics and progress notes are completed as required by the Occupational TherapistAssist with mobilising and transferring residents – moving from place to place and position to positionMeet residents' personal care needs, safety and comfort, whilst driving satisfactory completion of planned programsAbout You: As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will plan and organise staff to carry out therapeutic activities under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist, Manager, and/or Registered Nurse.
Certificate III or IV in Occupational Therapy AssistantCurrent knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety principles and practicesAbility to relate to older people with empathy and understandingStrong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsProven success working collaboratively in a team environmentDemonstrated skills prioritising workload and managing time effectivelyValid Police Clearance less than 6 months old (or ability to obtain at interview stage)NDIS Screening (or willingness to obtain at interview stage)Successful completion of pre-employment medical and reference checksEvidence of Flu (2024) and COVID vaccinations (including Booster if eligible)Availability to attend a paid 2-day induction (Monday – Friday) at our Rivervale Training InstituteHow to Apply: If you are interested in this role and meet the essential criteria, please click the "apply now" button.
