Wandong Primary School is located approximately sixty kilometres north of Melbourne, just off the Hume Highway. It is in a semi-rural township and currently has a school population of 500 students. Enrolments are steadily increasing due to the development of new housing estates and the ease with which families can access employment either within the neighbouring townships or in the outlying areas of Melbourne.

Selection CriteriaDemonstrated ability to work alongside a highly engaged Student Wellbeing Strategic Team and collaboratively with a Wellbeing Leader.Demonstrated experience in assessing, conceptualising and analysing wellbeing issues, and providing evidence-based direct support for a range of students.Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing evidence-based intervention strategies for children with complex needs.Demonstrated ability to input into the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and strategies relating to health and wellbeing.Highly developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills.Ability to provide leadership and professional learning that informs and influences the work of others involved in the engagement and wellbeing of children and young people.RoleRange 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in finance, human resources and other support functions. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school.
An education support class position supports the educational services provided to students but must not include duties of teaching as defined in the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic).
ResponsibilitiesWork alongside the school Wellbeing Leader and in collaboration with the Wellbeing Strategic Team to deliver on the school Strategic Plan.Deliver professional support services in a school, including direct counselling for students with a range of mental health issues.Plan and implement evidence-based intervention strategies for students with complex needs.Work collaboratively with the school to contribute to policies and operational practices.Demonstrate leadership and provide professional learning to others to build capacity.Liaise with other Department areas and external service providers where necessary.Maintain professional competence and continued professional learning.Meet relevant policies and legislative requirements in relation to student health information privacy.Who May ApplyRequired Applicants must be qualified as an occupational therapist.Have demonstrated direct OT experience.Have a current Working With Children Check.Child Safe StandardsVictorian government schools are child safe environments.
