Ipswich Hospital is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist with well-developed interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to deliver high-level Occupational Therapy clinical services within the Hospital in the Home (HITH) team.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity.
This role may be eligible for the Queensland Health Attraction Incentive. The purpose of the role is to deliver high-level occupational therapy services and leadership within the West Moreton Health Hospital in the Home (HITH) Team, including Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM HITH) and Multidisciplinary Avoidance and Post-Acute Service (MAPS).
The Occupational Therapist works as a member of the multidisciplinary team, delivering services to the patients of West Moreton Health. Occupational Therapy Clinical Services within West Moreton Health include the provision of outpatient, inpatient, and sub-acute clinical services. Services may be provided in hospital, a clinic, or patients' homes.
About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
High level of knowledge, expertise, and skill in contemporary clinical practice standards for adult physical occupational therapy services relevant to hospital in the home caseloads and as recognised by clinical experience, professional development activities, post-graduate education, or formal qualifications. Well-developed interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, including the ability to work autonomously and flexibly with initiative in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Builds rapport with patients and demonstrates empathy, patience, and respect in delivering a flexible service that meets patients' needs, in accordance with organisational goals. Applies clinical evidence that supports continuous improvement, including the ability to initiate, plan, and evaluate local quality and service improvement activities. Commitment to education and training including supervision of students and staff, as well as ongoing continuing professional development. High level organisational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritise clinical caseloads and non-clinical tasks, and the ability to provide leadership and direction to students, HP3 clinical staff, and assistants. Mandatory Requirements: Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16.
