We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to support people to Return to Work after sustaining an injury or illness AND to support Activities of Daily Living Assessment and equipment trials for individuals as a result of work-related injury or illness and Support Needs Assessments . Every day is different but each day you will have the opportunity to assist people to return to wellness, work, and ultimately experience an improved quality of life:
Engage in formal and experiential training to develop the skills you need to feel competent and confident in your role; Assess client needs, develop strategies and interventions for a safe return to pre-injury activities; Play an important role in a multidisciplinary approach to recovery and return to work, always with your client's best interests at heart; Perform assessments such as initial assessments, functional capacity assessments, early intervention, home, worksite, and ergonomic assessments, as well as vocational assessments; Build rapport with key stakeholders throughout the process including the ill or injured individual, their treating health practitioners, employers, and insurers. As part of Activities of Daily Living Assessments, you will:
Assess an individual's Personal, Domestic, and Community ADLs, and identify recommendations for services, support, and/or assistive equipment; Complete equipment trials in person with your clients, to ensure this recommendation is safe and appropriate for the Injured Worker, as well as prompting independence in their day-to-day life; Provide education to our clients and Injured Workers to complement recommendations for support and/or assistive equipment. As part of Support Needs Assessments, you will:
Undertake a thorough assessment with your client to identify needs and risks associated with the injuries sustained in the motor accident; Identify what formal support is required detailing the nature of the support program, hours required, and the duration of the program through a Support Request Form (SRF) inclusive of a Roster for the Support Provider; Monitor the support over time and support the client's improvement and recovery. Minimum Requirements: Full registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency); Allied Health Qualification in Occupational Therapy; A passion for injury prevention, facilitation of return to independence at work and at home, and the desire to make a difference; Exceptional communication skills and a commitment to delivering what we say we will and when we will; Current drivers' licence and access to their own vehicle.
