About the Role
Townsville Catholic Education (TCE) is currently seeking three committed and enthusiastic Occupational Therapists to provide support to our schools.
There are multiple positions available for full time, permanent and part time, permanent.
These positions commence from 20 January 2025.
1 x Permanent, Full Time (38 hours per week) - Mount Isa basedAs a member of the Inclusive Education Team, you will work collaboratively to provide a range of occupational therapy services that promote and support effective inclusive practice.
The support you provide will be responsive to each school's context, maintain a student-specific focus, and complement services provided through TCE.
As the Occupational Therapist, you will apply your professional skills and knowledge in contemporary occupational therapy and collaborate with education teams within schools to deliver high quality occupational therapy services which address barriers to student learning and enhance educational outcomes.
Key Accountabilities Provide consultative occupational therapy services and resources to assist school leaders and staff, parents, and other professional peers to develop knowledge and skills to support students with disability.Screening or formal assessments occur within the school environment and information profiling each student's strengths and concerns is provided to the school and parents.Develop evidence-based occupational therapy interventions that include proactive, targeted and intensive strategies.Collaborate effectively to create partnerships within the school community to optimise the quality of service outcomes.Participate as an active team member in a number of educational teams with particular emphasis on the delivery of occupational therapy services as part of the educational program and towards educational outcomes.Collaborate and contribute to the professional development of school staff as well as providing opportunities for parent education.Confidential records of occupational therapy services provided are maintained and undertaken in accordance with Townsville Catholic Education Office guidelines.Maintain standards of practice and competencies consistent with those described by AHPRA and Townsville Catholic Education Office.Actively participate in professional development activities and clinical supervision to improve and ensure high quality services are delivered based on contemporary best practice.Supervise university occupational therapy students.About You Clinical experience and competence in differential diagnosis and intervention for children/adolescents and the capacity to effectively apply this knowledge and expertise within the educational or other organisational contexts.Experience and capacity to facilitate, perform and interpret appropriate occupational therapy assessments and to report findings to all stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to develop effective programs and monitor the progress of these programs, making adjustments as required specifically for students with a disability.Highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills in dealing with a diverse range of students, school staff, parents/carers, community members and professionals from other agencies and organisations.Mandatory Criteria Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by the Queensland Government.Appropriate tertiary qualification(s) in Occupational Therapy.Full registration as an Occupational Therapist under Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), as administered by Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.Current Driver's Licence.Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville.Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.What we offer Competitive Salary Range.4 Weeks Annual Leave with 17.5% leave loading.ITAS and IPRASS allowance.Salary packaging options.Modern facilities, equipment and resources.Superannuation up to 12.75% employer contribution (in a co-contribution arrangement).Access to long service leave after 7 years of continuous service.14 Weeks' paid parental leave.Deferred Salary Scheme.Corporate health insurance.Induction, professional development and learning opportunities.Well-being programs and initiatives.How to apply Complete the application form including contact details (phone and email) of two professional referees.Upload a cover letter addressing the experience, knowledge and skills to support the key accountabilities of the role identified in the position description.Upload a current resume.Applications during the shortlisting phase will be kept confidential.
