Details of the offer

Brightwater At Home has two exciting opportunities available for a reliable and motivated Occupational Therapist (junior or senior) to join our Brightwater At Home team working in our Community Aged Care programs in North and South of the river (Yanchep to Mandurah). This is a full-time/part-time position, working Monday to Friday with our clients in the community. You will have access to our new Brightwater Central facility in Inglewood or work from the comfort of your home. You will work with a mix of clients receiving either Home Care Package or Transitional Care Community package. Transition care provides short-term care to optimise the functioning and independence of older people after a hospital stay. Transition care is goal-oriented, time-limited and therapy-focused. The programme seeks to enable older people, where possible, to return home after a hospital stay rather than prematurely enter residential aged care. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering the program with support from dedicated client coordinators, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, dietitians, social workers, nurses, and community support workers. Brightwater can offer you: The ability to salary package – meaning you can legitimately pay less tax and increase your take-home pay. 5 days of additional leave. Our unique staff benefits program, including access to BrightwaterPlus which gives you discounts with over 370 retailers. Private health benefits and discounts. Mobile phone, laptop, and work from home kit provided. Free on-site gym at Inglewood.

To be successful for the role, you will possess the following attributes: Registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Strong commitment to providing, and the capability to deliver, safe high-quality care. Demonstrated experience and competency as an OT to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in various environments with a diverse range of people. Strong person-centred skills in communicating and engaging with clients with high support needs including cognitive impairment, brain injury, and dementia. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise tasks, work effectively under pressure, problem solve and meet deadlines. Working knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation; Aged Care Act (1997); and/or Disability Services Commission Standards (1988). First Aid Certificate less than 3 years old (desirable; essential if providing services for Brightwater At Home clients). Current Western Australian 'C' Class Driver's Licence. A safe, registered, and suitably insured motor vehicle able to be used for work purposes. Satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months.

About Brightwater: At Brightwater, we welcome people with the full diversity of life experiences, thoughts, and beliefs. We foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and innovation where our clients and staff can flourish. With a track record that dates back to 1901, care is at our core. We stand beside our clients during times of personal change, using experience and understanding to be the support they need. We're ready for the complexities that come with ageing and disability, including dementia, Huntington's disease, and acquired brain injury. If you are passionate about working at a place where people are guided to create new opportunities for themselves, where people who thought they'd no longer be able to grow, are growing in new and different ways, and where people enjoy life, making decisions and building new relationships – a place where people can pursue the dignity of independence, then submit your application, along with a cover letter, through Brightwater's online portal by 25th October 2024, however, shortlisting will begin immediately . Please note that Brightwater reserves the right to close the advert prior to this date. Please read the attached job description for more information on the role, including a full list of duties and selection criteria.
