What you'll be doing This role provides high-quality, client-centered Occupational Therapy services to the geriatric medicine team at Westmead Hospital. You will deliver assessments, interventions, and leadership to level 1/ level 2 therapists while working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. You'll ensure compliance with professional standards, maintain clinical supervision, and drive quality improvement. Additionally, you'll manage diverse patient needs, including challenging behaviors, and contribute to ongoing professional development and education.
This is a temporary full-time position within our department working as the Senior Occupational Therapist in the Geriatric inpatient team. We are seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team, delivering high-quality care and contributing to positive patient outcomes.
Essential Criteria:
Registration: AHPRA registration as Occupational Therapist
Qualification: Degree or Diploma recognised by AAOT-NSW
Selection Criteria:
Significant clinical experience in Occupational Therapy in an acute or community aged care setting with the ability to exercise independent professional judgment.
Ability to work independently with distant supervision and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders throughout all organisational levels.
Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated effective time management and organisational skills including ability to prioritise competing demands.
Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision to occupational therapists and students.
Ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
