Your role at St John of God Midland Hospital
The Grade 1 Occupational Therapist works alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical occupational therapy services to clients/patients using evidence based clinical practice skills. Ensures practice is in accordance to Occupational Therapy Australia Code of Ethics and SJGHC policies and guidelines.
The Position
Provide direct occupational therapy services to clients/patients and or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and outpatients. Completion of comprehensive patient assessment (e.g. assessment of personal care, domestic and community ADLs, assessment of the home environment, cognitive and functional physical assessment as required).
Provision of a comprehensive treatment intervention and appropriate progression treatment to match functional goals.
Coordinate the provision of special aids and equipment requirements of patients if required to assist with functioning
Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division as appropriate.
Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising from each session instructed. This requires liaison with the office administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation.
Participate in multidisciplinary activities e.g. team meetings, ward rounds, or case conferences, as required.
Participate in the delivery of education programmes within the service and for Divisional caregivers.
Participate in other activities as assigned.
Supervise, instruct and assess students in approved clinical teaching programs in liaison with the Supervisor/Manager.
Attends relevant training sessions offered by SJGHC. Satisfactory completion of all annual mandatory and unit based competencies as required.
You will hold a current tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessment, treatment and evaluation within Occupational Therapy practice.
To succeed you will have effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (including ability to communicate using technology) with the ability to work both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team. A current C Class driver's license is essential.

Salary: $50.33 to $70.78 per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus 11% superannuation
