The Role
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Lead Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. This role is pivotal in leading the delivery of occupational therapy services to children, adolescents, and families. As the Lead Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to shape and influence the development of the department, working closely with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic and comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of dedicated occupational therapists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. You will play a key role in guiding less experienced therapists, sharing your knowledge, and supporting their growth within the practice.
Clinical Excellence: Provide direct therapy services to children and adolescents, conducting clinical consultations, assessments, and developing tailored treatment plans. Your expertise will be crucial in addressing a variety of conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, developmental delays, sensory processing disorders, and more.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, and other specialists. Your role will involve coordinating care plans and ensuring that all aspects of a patient's needs are met through a collaborative approach.
Innovation and Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of services, identifying opportunities for innovation in treatment approaches and service delivery. You will be encouraged to bring new ideas to the table and help implement strategies that enhance patient care and outcomes.
Family and Community Engagement: Engage with families and caregivers, providing them with education, support, and guidance tailored to their unique situations. Your role will involve not only addressing the immediate needs of the patients but also empowering families to support their loved ones' long-term development.

Skills & Qualifications
AHPRA Registration: You must hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist.
Experience: A minimum of 4+ years of experience in a clinical setting, with a strong background in paediatric and adolescent care. Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is highly desirable.
Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated expertise in working with children and adolescents, particularly in areas such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and sensory processing disorders. A solid understanding of NDIS and Medicare processes is essential.
Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
Certifications: First Aid, Working With Children Check (WWCC), Criminal Record Check (CRC), and a valid Driver's Licence are required.
