Your work doesn't stop at just Karratha! You will immerse yourself across all parts of the Northwest Region.
This role is balanced between office and field-based work across the region, with extensive travel to Port Hedland, Broome, Kununurra, and occasionally Perth for forums.
A valid Western Australian driver's license is required for this full-time role.
You will lead the local OSH team to support and coach the Northwest Region in various Safety and Wellbeing initiatives.
Your role includes developing and implementing strategies, planning, processes, and initiatives to improve the Northwest Region's occupational safety and health culture and outcomes.
This position involves juggling proactive and reactive tasks, including investigating incidents and reporting to prevent future occurrences.
Benefits Work your full-time hours over 9 days and enjoy an RDO every fortnight. Housing subsidy may be offered. Air-conditioning subsidy. Remote location allowance from $12,865 (single rate) or $25,730 (double rate with dependant). Additional travel allowance of up to $200 per day when away from home. Annual leave loading of 17.5%. Opportunity to work overtime at applicable rates. Annual leave travel concessions. Additional 38-hour annual leave for residing above the 26th Parallel. 2 paid Well-being Leave days per 12 months of service. Christmas Eve paid leave. Team Environment You will work with a close-knit team focused on teamwork and ensuring safety for all.
Your first few months will involve adjusting to the new role and understanding our business.
Key Responsibilities Participate in OSH risk profiling and assist with hazard management. Prepare reports to ensure compliance with Corporate, Group, region, and legislative requirements. Coach regional managers and personnel on OSH responsibilities. Facilitate and coach staff on safe work practices. Undertake audits and develop action plans for identified deficiencies. Act as local user expert for OSH systems. Act as competent breathalyser operator as required. Minimum Qualifications Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent. Tertiary degree is advantageous. Experience in ICAM methodology. Technical background with transferable OSH experience. Computer skills, using Microsoft Suite. Confident communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to work full-time and travel. Valid WA "C" Class driver's license. Excited to see where this opportunity could take you? Start your application today!
