Step into the role of Occupational Hygiene Specialist in our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team at CSIRO. Reporting to the HSE Executive Business Partner, you'll be at the forefront of developing and implementing impactful programs that elevate CSIRO's wellbeing and safety culture.
This position will see you collaborate across all management levels, offering expert technical support and valuable insights to guide our teams. Your role is crucial in delivering top-tier education, training, regulatory advice, and risk management strategies to mitigate occupational risks and exposures.
Your duties will include: Develop and lead the implementation of occupational hygiene strategies aligned with CSIRO's HSE plan. Design, implement, and continuously improve occupational hygiene management systems. Lead the development and execution of comprehensive exposure assessment programs. Act as a senior advisor and mentor to HSE teams. Support the upskill of HSE teams in implementing and managing occupational hygiene controls. Work with relevant HSE systems and teams to develop and distribute regular reporting capability. Location: Location negotiable, any major city with CSIRO site considered
Salary: AU$110,038 - AU$119,080 plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure: Specified term of 18 months

To be considered you will need: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Hygiene (master's in occupational Hygiene preferred). Extensive experience as an Occupational Hygienist. Proven ability in interpreting legislation and regulatory standards. Membership or ability to become a member with the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH). Demonstrated experience in inspiring and motivating HSE teams. A proven ability to coach and be a trusted advisor to leaders. Track record in enabling positive organisational change. Strong interpersonal skills in managing client expectations. Desirable: Sound understanding of Chem-Alert or similar chemical management systems. Eligibility
