DescriptionWho we are: The RED OHMS Group is a leading consultancy servicing a number of sectors including oil and gas (onshore and offshore), mining, government, education, manufacturing, infrastructure, construction, industrial, and commercial across Australia. We specialise in providing occupational hygiene, environment, hazmat, training support, and solutions for our clients.
We promote workplace safety and health to ensure people go home not just in the same health that they arrived, but possibly in better health because of the solutions and help we provide.
The opportunity: We have a team of nine (9) Certified Occupational Hygienists within a national team of approximately 100 employees. Our leadership, technical, operations, and capital support are based around the country in Perth (Head Office), Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin and Kalgoorlie.
Our business is growing! So we are looking for a Hygiene Consultant to join our team in Perth. Key Activities in the role: Conducting health and hygiene risk assessments;Creating health and hygiene management plans;Operation and execution of industry related equipment (e.g. fibre, dust, heavy metals (welding fumes), noise and volatile organic compounds) to undertake client project work;Project management including planning, preparing, & executing health/ hygiene monitoring programmes for clients as required;Researching occupational hygiene issues and trends to provide pragmatic solutions to our client.What the role requires: Completion of, or progression towards completion of, a post graduate qualification in Occupational Hygiene, or M500 courses to hold an ICertOH from BOHS;Full membership with Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH) and a desire to progress in becoming a Certified Occupational Hygienist;Registered Hygiene Sampler (MAQT) with DEMIRS and Mine Air Quality Officer (MAQO);Commercial skills to define and provide quotes and invoices;Project management skills to plan, execute and monitor the implementation of projects for clients.About you: You are passionate about the industry and want to work for a company that values diversity and individuality with a focus on professional growth and development. You are a proven professional with experience in : Conducting health and hygiene risk assessments and creating health and hygiene management plans;Operating different tools and equipment to execute work across a diverse range of hygiene hazards (e.g. fibre, dust, noise, volatile organic compounds etc.);Project planning, preparation and execution of health/hygiene monitoring programmes;Research and report writing skills addressing various occupational hygiene issues to provide pragmatic solutions to clients.You also bring with you: Flexibility and willingness to undertake frequent travel to client sites according to client requirements (an essential and feature of work);Strong collaboration and communication skills to contribute to team delivery;Ability to work autonomously where required on client projects and client sites;Strong client relationship management skills;Ability to coach and mentor aspiring hygienists and technicians.What we offer: Our mission is to protect worker health and safety by partnering with clients to understand their risks and how to manage them.
