Opportunity currently exists for an Occupational Health Coordinator to join the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) team in our Blayney Factory. This role will provide high quality and efficient services and support to help the unit identify & assess health risks and opportunities, and to take appropriate action.
A day in the life… Reporting to the SHE Manager, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide managers & team leaders guidance on health-related legal requirements, on identifying, assessing & managing health risk factors and opportunities.Support audits and management reviews of health-related programmes.Support assessment of health risks, both work-related and non-work-related, to ensure risks are identified and prioritised appropriately.Analyse sickness absence data to identify key priorities. Champion the use of health risk appraisal.Maintain emergency medical plans, resources and competencies, appropriate to local circumstances.Determine health capability requirements for relevant jobs and ensure appropriate fitness-for-task and return-to-work assessments are carried out.Design and implement manual handling and ergonomics programs (including workstation assessments).Provide training to managers, team leaders and employees on relevant health risks.Design and implement a health surveillance programme to monitor for impacts of work on health.Design and implement health promotion programmes, focused on key personal health risk factors for the workforce.Provide support to help staff access appropriate treatment and rehabilitation, in case of injury, illness, or other health concern.Support the investigation of potential work-related injuries and illnesses to identify causes and corrective actions.Maintain personal and medical information to ensure safeguards to data privacy, and compliance with both Nestlé requirements and local legislation.What will make you successful Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong leader with a drive to deliver desired outcomes.2+ years of experience in an OH&S role and execution of health management activities.Hold formal qualifications in health and safety.Experienced in conducting effective training sessions for small groups.Demonstrated ability to influence and coach others.Experience leading change projects to improve performance.Participating in audit teams and/or improvement projects with more senior staff members.Developed communication and a proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of health and safety.Applicants will be required to undergo pre-employment checks prior to appointment to this role.
