About the roleThe OHS Advisor will assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of procedures, programs and strategies for improved physical and psychological Health and Safety (H&S) within East Gippsland Water's area of interest.
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Fostering line management accountability and ownership of OHS management.Input to the corporation's OHS Management Systems applicable to all aspects of EGW's operations and contractor works; including development, documentation, implementation, training and maintenance.Provide input to the development of EGW emergency response plans as required.Assist OHS internal audits across EGW network.Provide guidance on and adapt OHS programs (pulse checks/incident management/fatal risks/Mental Health Charter) in line with the Safety Strategic Plan.Assist the Safety and Wellbeing Team with the review, development and implementation of an upgraded Psychological Safety Management System.Undertake incident investigations and report writing.Assist with psychological or physical injury rehabilitation and return to work.Support EGW medicals for staff and other regulatory and wellbeing actions in line with the Annual OHS Plan.ExperienceExperience in the following would be a strong advantage:
Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the application of OHS, Emergency and Risk management, systems implementation and management, continuous improvement management, and the relevant Australian and/or Victorian OHS legislation, ISO, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice/Compliance.Sound knowledge and innovation in consultative processes, training, quality assurance and management systems.Excellent written and oral communication skills, including interpersonal and negotiation skills.Excellent personal/facilitation skills and an ability to work effectively at all organisational levels.What can you bring to the role?This role can be accomplished through the following key areas:
Qualifications in Work Health & Safety (WHS) or willingness to obtain.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to gain co-operation and assistance from and communicate effectively with EGW staff and contractors.Good organisation skills with the ability to reprioritise.Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience in the management of OHS.Proven ability to interpret legislation, regulations together with policies and procedures.We welcome your application by Sunday, 18th February 2024.
