About the roleReporting directly to the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager at Laverton Steel Mill, you are energetic and passionate about supporting the business needs through work activities & projects related to health, wellbeing & emergency response, contributing to the continuous improvement of the site and workers.

As the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Advisor, you are responsible for the development & implementation of health and well-being programs, emergency response management on site, providing first aid attention assisting with health monitoring and training of employees & contractors on site.
Duties included but not limited to:

Developing and executing a Health and Wellbeing Program (HWP) tailored to the specific capabilities of Laverton Steel Mill improving the mental and physical health of its employees.
Demonstrating a commitment to completing the annual and bi-annual health monitoring program.
Assisting the Occupational hygienist in completing the Health Surveillance and monitoring schedule where appropriate.
Maintaining the Occupational Health Centre ensuring equipment is calibrated and sufficient stock of first aid & pharmacy supplies.
Providing basic care to individuals who have sustained injuries at work or are feeling unwell and evaluating the need for further medical intervention.
Coordinating the First Aid Training Program & developing the First Aid Revision Program.
Contributing to the development and coordination of strategies for the business health and wellbeing program (We Care, psychosocial risk management, etc.
).
Maintaining all health and well-being, health monitoring, emergency response and other related documentation in the Document Control Centre.
Ensuring related Cority records and events are timely recorded as required.
Coordinating the Emergency Response Program and Committee.
Implementing the Safety Training Program.
As the successful candidate you have excellent influencing & stakeholder management skills along with the ability to manage time effectively because of your exceptional organisational skills.

Relevant bachelor's degree in health, safety, or a current Registered Nurse Cert IV – in Training & Assessment (required for First Aid Level 1/revision training, working at height level 1).
Workplace Screening Audiometry Tester Certificate, Level 3 First aid qualification & Confined Spaces Level 2.
Demonstrated experience (3 years) providing occupational health services for industry/manufacturing clients.
Proven history of conducting occupational health screenings including audiometry, vital sign checks, drug and alcohol testing (qualifications desirable), facial fit testing.
Ability to provide professional advice/ training on occupational health issues including injury management, first aid, emergency warden, healthy lifestyle and injury prevention.
