Fixed Term Full Time or Part Time: 0.6 – 1.0 FTE September 2025 until March 2026 (long service leave backfill) The West Gippsland Healthcare Group are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to join our dedicated team for a 6-month fixed term contract, covering long service leave commencing September 2025. This position includes cover for obstetrics and gynaecology with a level 4 obstetrics service delivering approximately 900 births per year. It also includes gynaecology clinics and theatre lists for general gynaecology.
Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality obstetric and gynaecological care to our diverse patient community Manage antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care in collaboration with midwives and other healthcare professionals Participate in on-call rosters and multidisciplinary team meetings, including 1x 24hr on-call per week Option of providing contraception, early pregnancy & family planning services, in conjunction with experienced GP obstetricians Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) or equivalent Current registration with AHPRA Proven experience in both obstetrics and gynaecology Strong interpersonal and communication skills About the West Gippsland Healthcare Group The West Gippsland Healthcare Group is a customer-focused health organisation providing acute medical and surgical, obstetric, emergency, residential care and community health services to 50,000 people in the rural, urban residential, agricultural and industrial areas located within the Baw Baw Shire and beyond.
