The Role
Working in a friendly team to meet the needs of our customer - the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), your role involves direct engagement with peers, Australian Defence Force personnel, capability partners, sub-contractors and suppliers. You will be responsible for:
Developing and executing an obsolescence management strategy, to ensure continued support of Navy assets.
Contributing to the establishment and maintenance of Obsolescence Management Plans and Process documentation.
Conducting gathering, tracking and verification of obsolescence related data through supplier engagement and polling.
Assisting Supply Chain and Engineering teams with the selection, assessment, and validation of replacement components.
Analysing, predicting, and providing mitigation recommendations against obsolescence risks for equipment approaching end-of-life.
This role will work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across the country, to develop and maintain effective relationships to deliver quality outcomes.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
6 years of experience in an ILS Engineering, Asset Management and/or Obsolescence Management role.
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is highly desirable.
Knowledge of ISO55000/55001 series standards desirable.
Exposure to Defence Logistics Toolset desirable, including analysis and simulation software (e.g. OPUS10, SIMLOX, and CATLOC).
Ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva.
