Belgravia Leisure (NZ) operates aquatic, fitness, sport, holiday parks, spa and wellness venues across 20 venues in New Zealand. With 500 team members and annual revenue of $7 million, with plans for significant expansion.
The Role Working collaboratively with the Belgravia Group Health and Safety Team and reporting to the Group Health and Safety Manager, this role is responsible for the provision of quality safety case management, advice, and technical support to operational and Belgravia Group support teams. Through influencing the design and architecture of the safety management system, and empowering operational leaders to effectively manage safety, this role is pivotal to improving Belgravia's safety performance and implementation of the 'Think Safe Act Safe Be Safe' methodology. Additionally, this role will take lead in promoting to the Belgravia Leisure Triple A for Aquatic Safety methodology, a subset of the 'Think Safe Act Safe Be Safe' strategy.
Leveraging off team expertise relating to general safety, aquatic safety, child safety and injury management, this role is responsible for promoting consistency and synergy in the application of safety management, ensuring safety compliance and continuous improvement throughout the New Zealand division.
RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the implementation and operation of safety reporting requirements.Provision of incident investigation expertise for high impact/major incidents.Liaise with safety regulatory authorities.Provision of safety related data insights as requested.Provision of technical advice and assistance through Belgravia operational transition processes.Drive safety compliance.Stewardship of the Belgravia Health and Safety management systems.Lead safety cultural measurement, review and assessments specific to NZ.Provide New Zealand perspective on the 'Think Safe Act Safe Be Safe' strategy and 'Triple A for Aquatic Safety'.Provide key technical and operational insights into the Organisations Risk Register and risk assessment processes.Support team members with maintaining wellbeing and responding to team member injury.Empower team members to implement the safety management system and associated strategies.Participate and, where requested, lead projects and initiatives as required by the Health and Safety Manager.Engage with New Zealand industry stakeholders to influence industry uplift and to future proof continuous improvement of the industry.Actively engage in the Organisations Safety Governance processes.QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.Current CPR Certificate.Current Children's Worker Safety Check.National Police Check.EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Qualification in incident investigation preferred (ICAM, Tap Root or similar).Leads through example.Effectively motivates and empowers others to adhere to safety requirements.Sound knowledge in Microsoft products.Capacity to modify language (written and verbal) to suit the audience.Independently researches and maintains current legislative awareness and knowledge.Good interpersonal skills.Commitment to own personal development.Enthusiastic, flexible, and looking for a challenge.Passion for the role, team, and guests.If you like the sound of us, then jump in and submit your application.
