We are looking for a full time Nurse Unit Manager Level 2 for our Neuroscience Department (Radley Ward). Our Radley ward is a 29-bed neurology & neurosurgery ward which offers a dynamic mix of cases across the neuroscience specialty including acute stroke unit care, pre and post brain and spinal surgery, neuro oncology surgeries and general adult neurology cares.
Reporting directly to the Director Medical Surgical, you will be accountable for managing and leading a team of 45 direct reports, this is made up of a Stroke CNC and DBS CNC, 3 x CNS and a CNE plus team leaders. This role offers you the opportunity to work in an operationally fast-paced, hands-on environment while also working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities of this role will be: Lead and coordinate our nursing and support teams to ensure the highest level of care is deliveredCompliance with National Safety and Quality Health Standards (NSQHS) and ACORN Standards along with AHCL policies and proceduresEncourage and facilitate learning & development opportunities to empower nurses in the delivery of careManage our work force to assist in achieving budget expectationsBe a true leader by promoting the organisations key values along with driving patient and staff safety, positive culture, and a healthy work life balanceWho we're looking for Previous experience as NUM preferable but not essential. Team leaders with NUM acting experience are encouraged to apply.A Post Grad qualification in Leadership or Management or working towards itDemonstrated high level of clinical knowledge with a min of 2 years post grad experience ideally within the Neurosurgery space but we will consider other backgrounds.Demonstrates commitment to process, quality and people improvement initiatives.Promotes a culture of safety and respectStrong interpersonal skills with an authentic & respectful communication styleAbility to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, senior executives and staff at all levels across the organisationDemonstrates ability to assess situations, consider solutions, make and communicate decisions and take appropriate actionCurrent AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with full Australian working rightsHow to apply
