Fixed Term Temporary Full-time commencing ASAP for 12 months (with the possibility of extension).
Remuneration package of up to $199,546 p.a., comprising base salary of $174,378 p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (Nurse Grade 11), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).

About the role:
The Nursing Director, Clinical Practice Development provides strategic leadership and management in the development and implementation of a contemporary Nursing and Midwifery Education and Research Framework for Townsville Hospital and Health Service in alignment with nursing and midwifery professions and Health Service priorities. The incumbent is operationally accountable for the coordination and provision of undergraduate and postgraduate clinical education and research for the Health Service. The position collaborates and consults with nursing/midwifery leadership teams and other key stakeholders to achieve strategic leadership, innovation, sustainability and excellence through education and research for the nursing and midwifery workforce.
Skills and experience: Advanced experience in leading the design, implementation and evaluation of education and research strategies that support the delivery of contemporary healthcare and enhance organisational capability. Strong commitment to making service performance improvements and a determination to achieve positive service outcomes for users. Analytical, financial, and material resource management skills and the ability to identify and initiate corrective actions to maximise budget integrity. Ability to build and sustain relationships within the organisation, across the service and with a diverse range of external stakeholders to deliver best health outcomes. Role requirements: Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. On call: Appointees may be required to participate in an on-call roster. Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Travel: Please note, from time-to-time this position will be required to travel to, and work at, other facilities to participate in meetings for planning, quality, performance, training and education, or clinical activities. This may involve day and/or overnight stays. Travel on small planes or ferry may be required. Highly desirable:
Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field.
