Nursery Horticulturalist / Greenkeeper

A full time position is available for an Experienced Horticulturist / Greenkeeper to join our small team at Heritage Acres Tree Farm in Currumbin Valley, you will be responsible for approximately 10 acres of manicured gardens within the nursery reporting to the manager.

Has good communication skillsIs passionate about gardening and horticultureIs adaptable to changes in daily tasksIs experienced with general nursery duties.Has an interest in permaculture & regenerative farming. Has experience in starting & maintaining composting systems (small scale)Is interested in tropical plants, ornamentals, palms & grass trees.Is interested in cultivating a small grove of approx 120 fruit trees, berries, nuts. Knows about plant disease, fungal & insect problems.Enjoys working outdoors in nature, is fit & healthy - this is a labor intensive role.You will need to provide a Police check Duties of the role:
Assist with customer orders & loading trees for freight.Assist with excavation of trees for saleWeeding, mowing, whipper snipping, composting, pruning, irrigation systems, fertilizer application & foliar sprays, repotting large trees & other team projects, knowledgeable in biosecurity processes.This is a paid role (sorry no volunteer positions) Tractor & toolcat operation is included in training & tools are provided. Farm hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30am. The role is 32 Part-time OR 38 hours Full-time per week.
