The Nurse Unit Manager:• Provides leadership to the Maternity Unit, Launceston General Hospital.• Ensures the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework by coordinating the clinical, management, education and nursing research functions within the Maternity Unit.

The Launceston General Hospital (LGH) is the major referral hospital in Northern Tasmania and the Maternity Servicesdelivers approximately 1,600 new born babies each year. With a 6 bed Birth Suite, 29 bed Maternity Unit and 9 bed Special Care Unit your work will be fast paced and very rewarding.
This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging Midwifery Manager to join the Women's and Children's nursing and midwifery leadership team. Professional development opportunities and mentoring available.
The role: The Nurse Unit Manager:
Provides leadership to the Maternity Unit, Launceston General Hospital. Ensures the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework by coordinating the clinical, management, education and nursing research functions within the Maternity Unit. Leads and manages the coordination of overall patient care and is responsible for managing the allocated human, material and financial resources for service delivery within the Maternity Unit, Launceston General Hospital. Details of Appointment Fixed term part time, day workerposition working 16hours per fortnight, commencing from 3 June 2024 until 5 January 2025
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies. Salary:$126,411 - 132,3 25 pro rataper annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible
Salary range is in accordance withNurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013 Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
