An exciting opportunity exists for a highly self-motivated Nurse Unit Manager to join the Department of Health.
The Role:In this key management position, you'll lead and drive the nursing team's commitment to quality care, continuous improvement, and patient and staff satisfaction. Working closely with the Director of Nursing, you'll foster a collaborative and safe work environment, leveraging resources effectively to enhance clinical outcomes.
You will need:Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and experience in acute and sub-acute care.Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in contemporary nursing management practice, including: clinical governance; clinical risk management; evidence-based practice; research; clinical standards; ethics; and legislation.Capability to promote a shared vision and purpose, and positively influence others to ensure optimal client outcomes and build a culture of success, commitment, and active contribution by all staff within the practice area.Capability to make rational and sound decisions based on a consideration of the facts and alternatives available, make quick decisions when required, and commit to definite courses of action.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.
The Team:New Norfolk is situated on the Derwent River, 35 kms from Hobart. The 14-bed facility operates with a shared care model between the local Derwent Valley Medical Centre (DVMC) and the Tasmanian Health Service, Hospitals South (THS-HS). All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
Details of appointment:Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary:$118,801 to $125,301 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
