Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is the major health provider in the Central Hume region with an extensive range of acute, sub-acute, aged care and community services.

NHW has recently completed a very exciting redevelopment, which includes an expansion of the existing medical ward to a 40 bed unit, with the addition of a number of single occupancy rooms, increasing the capacity for patient isolation.
As the NUM of the medical ward, you will be integral in leading sustained change and will have the opportunity to be involved in professional development in change management and improvement methodology through your involvement in the collaborative.
As the NUM, and as a senior leader within the Nursing & Midwifery Division, you will have direct operational responsibility for the provision of high quality and safe patient services through leadership, coaching, team building, change management, risk management and effective human and financial resource management.
To be eligible for this role you will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and have a minimum of five years post registration experience in acute medical nursing. Postgraduate qualifications in leadership and management or working towards are desirable as is previous experience in a management role.
You will demonstrate strong leadership and management skills as well as highly developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
You will be required to establish relationships and work closely with the Physician craft groups, Clinical Director of Internal medicine and leaders of the allied health teams to drive best patient outcomes. The role is a senior leadership role and you will have strong peer support as well as mentoring and coaching from your manager.
