About the role Mater Private Hospital Brisbane is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to work across Inpatient and Day Unit within Mater Children's Private Hospital. This role will be offered on a permanent full time basis.
Provide strategic and operational leadership to the nursing team in the paediatric unitOversee and manage the delivery of high-quality patient care, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and proceduresDevelop and implement nursing protocols and standards of practice that promote excellence in paediatric careFoster a collaborative and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among nursing staffCoordinate and allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal patient outcomes and efficient workflowAct as a liaison between the nursing team, medical staff, and other departments within the hospitalMonitor and evaluate nursing performance and provide regular feedback to promote continuous improvementParticipate in the recruitment, orientation, and ongoing education of nursing staffCollaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement quality improvement initiativesReview and update policies when requiredAbout you You will be an experienced leader and will drive innovation in your field; using evidence-based research to suggest new ways of doing things and take a positive and adaptive approach to embedding change.
Extensive experience in Paediatric Care with sound clinical expertise & leadershipCurrent AHPRA Nursing registrationAbility to demonstrate strong capability in leading both the clinical and commercial aspects of a tertiary service.High level communication skills within a multidisciplinary environmentDemonstrated competence in cost centre management.Mater is Queensland's largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for almost 700,000 patients a year across a network of 11 hospitals.
