About the Opportunity We are excited to announce an opening for a Nurse Unit Manager for the Fairfield Child and Family Health Nursing team, which operates from Carramar. This leadership position is essential for overseeing the day-to-day management of our dedicated team, focusing on delivering high-quality care to families in our community. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the Fairfield Child and Family Health Nursing team. You will empower and support staff to embrace change, fostering an environment of professional growth and development. Additionally, you will collaborate with a network of Nurse Unit Managers to provide mutual support and share best practices. Join us in our mission to make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve What You'll be Doing The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is responsible for all aspects of the team and for the timely provision of accessible, equitable and evidence based family focused care provided by the Child and Family Health Nursing team. The NUM is pivotal to the coordination of patient care and the management and leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources. South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) has a comprehensive Child and Family Health nursing service which incorporates targeted home visiting services primarily for families with Vulnerabilities as well as child and family health services offered through clinics and or virtually to meet the needs of the community. Tertiary qualifications in Child and Family Health nursing or relevant experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD and Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting. Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide a safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage performance issues when they arise Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the management of the unit and the delivery of evidenced based nursing care Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment.
