About the Role
The Day Procedure and Endoscopy Unit Manager will manage, maintain, and promote the professional standards of Nursing Practice while managing the operational resources of the Unit.
Directly reporting and liaising with the Perioperative Services Manager, the NUM will be responsible for providing mentoring and leadership to the Nursing Profession within the Day Procedure and Endoscopy Unit.
Daily clinical coordination of the Day Procedure and Endoscopy Unit nursing staff including sick leave management, communication of list changes, equipment, and emergency procedures.Manage, support, and nurture the Day Procedure and Endoscopy Unit nursing staff.Liaise daily with the Day Procedure and Endoscopy Unit ANUMs, Perioperative NUMs, Anaesthetist in charge, and Sterile Processing Centre (SPC) NUM regarding any changes.Lead the auditing of GESA, AS/NZS4187, HICMR, and NSQHS standards.Project lead for continuous improvement work.The classifications for this position is NM11 ($132,371 per annum).
Your ContributionESSENTIAL: Experience in Perioperative Surgery, previous management/ANUM experience leading a multidisciplinary team, knowledge of GESA/AS/NZ4187, HICMR and relevant NSQHS standards, experience in budget planning, preparation, and management.NON-ESSENTIAL: Postgraduate qualifications, Diploma of Management, previous experience as a Nurse Unit Manager, knowledge of endobase.Current Nationally coordinated criminal history check, or willing to obtain.What we OfferA focus on wellbeing initiatives, with regular events and programs.Confidential, solutions-focused employee counselling.A healthy work/life balance encouraged.

It is a Monday to Friday serviced work area.
The Day Procedure Unit services the procedural areas of Operating Suite, Endoscopy, DSA, Cath Lab, Cardiology, and Radiology admits and discharges.
On average there are 18,000 admissions per annum.
The endoscopy department consists of 3 endoscopy suites that provide gastrointestinal procedures including interventional, Acute Pain Intervention, ECT, Lithotripsy, Urology, respiratory, and Bone Marrow Biopsies.
On average they treat around 6,000 cases per annum.
