Nurse Unit Manager – Coronary Care Unit | Perth An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse to lead the Coronary Care Unit at a private hospital in Perth. It is a permanent full-time role.
ABOUT THE ROLE As a NUM, your responsibilities will include:
Provide leadership and direction to the unit to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital;Provide operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;Be accountable and responsible for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure that customer service is maintained at optimal levels;Participate in marketing initiatives of the hospital to promote growth, help identify clinical areas for expansion and represent the hospital at external clinical forums;Undertake direct patient care as required, providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team;Participate in working parties/committees and demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvements through NSQHS, workplace health and safety and achievement of hospital accreditation. REQUIREMENTS Registered with AHPRA; Experience in Cardiology, Cardiothoracic, and Vascular surgical care; Ability to achieve results through consultation, advice, and facilitation; High degree of computer literacy including MS Office; Ability to work and liaise within a multidisciplinary team to achieve organisational and department objectives. ABOUT THE FACILITY The hospital, located in Perth, provides a comprehensive range of services across most adult specialties. The Coronary Care Unit is a busy, high-turnover unit with frequent high-end interventional cardiac procedures. CCU provides the MET service for the hospital and adjoining medical suites, a Priority Admission Service, and a chest pain assessment service for GP referrals, VMO referrals, and walk-ins. A high acuity unit that services three Cath Labs and a Hybrid theatre. CCU is well supported by a 14-bed Level 3 Intensive Care Unit completing more than 700 open heart procedures yearly.
