Join Central Gippsland Health as a Permanent full-time Nurse Unit Manager - Community Nursing. Lead a dedicated team in district nursing, palliative care, and specialist programs, making a meaningful impact on coordinated care delivery.About Central Gippsland Health Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
Community services include a broad range of allied health, nursing and home support services, as well as facilitating the consumer networks.
About the Role This position will lead the Community Nursing Services, which includes District Nursing, Community Palliative Care, specialist nursing services (diabetes, respiratory, continence clinics and prostate cancer nurse) and the Pathways to Good Health program, optimising service delivery across all services.
This will occur within the principles of care coordination, where patients/clients/residents have access to a highly coordinated health care and community support system.
Duties Lead a culture of excellence, ethical conduct, and inter-disciplinary collaboration.Develop and coordinate the implementation of CGHS policies and procedures ensuring staff compliance.Participate in and contribute to key decision-making processes at a senior level and communicate with Executive and senior management on organisational issues as required.Ensure the Executive are informed of any practices that create risk and may inhibit the delivery of a high standard of patient/client care.Use critical and reflective thinking skills in contributing to decision making which includes reporting changes in health and functional status and individual responses to health care interventions.Qualifications, Skills and Experience Registered Nurse Division 1 – current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.Qualifications and/or experience in business/health management, or working towards same.Membership of relevant professional college/organisation.Application Please attach your resume and cover letter to your application.Statement addressing Selection Criteria including qualifications, experience and Leadership and Technical Capability Requirements as outlined in the position description.All appointments are made subject to the candidate providing a current satisfactory National Police Certificate and obtaining a Working with Children Check.
