An opportunity is now available to join the team in the Emergency Department at Nepean Hospital as the Safe Assessment Unit Nurse Unit Manager Level 1. This position on offer is a Temporary Full time role until June 30, 2026.
The Safe Assessment Unit (SAU), Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is in charge of all aspects of the unit environment and takes responsibility for the standard of patient care in the unit. This position is pivotal to the coordination of patient care, unit management and leadership to enable the delivery of safe, effective, quality nursing care and efficient use of resources. Working in the Emergency Department will allow you to meet the needs of staff, patients and their families whilst working in a diverse team demonstrating CORE values whilst providing exceptional person-centered care.

What you will bring to the role:
Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) AND extensive relevant post registration nursing experience. Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise and negotiate with clinicians, managers, staff and other key stakeholders and manage conflict. Proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for nursing services in the contemporary health care environment. Demonstrated previous experience in meeting Ministry of Health set KPI's. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, coach, mentor, encourage and guide others to enable them to reach their full potential. Demonstrated ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit/ward are managed to deliver safe and efficient health care within available resources. Evidence of and commitment to patient/client/customer focused care, clinical governance, and quality improvement. Extensive clinical experience in Emergency Nursing with desired, but not essential, clinical experience in Mental Health or Drug & Alcohol. #J-18808-Ljbffr
