Join Our Team: Veterinary Nurse Training/Mentor Specialists – Multiple Positions Available (Contract to Long Term Opportunities in Northern Queensland) Are you passionate about veterinary nursing, with a flair for mentorship and a dedication to excellence in our emergency and critical care or specialist referral medicine services? JCUVet, a 24/7 operation, is expanding our team of Veterinary Nurse Training Specialists in our Specialist Referral Medicine and Emergency and Critical Care Departments. We're building an experienced nursing workforce to elevate the standard of care we deliver, and we need your expertise!
About the Role: As a Veterinary Nurse Training Specialist, you'll be instrumental in on-the-job training, focusing on real-time learning adapted to the unique demands of a veterinary hospital setting. This role is pivotal in advancing veterinary nursing standards within both specialist referral medicine and emergency and critical care (ECC) settings, through practical, hands-on learning experiences delivered at an advanced clinical standard.
What We Offer: A salary base of up to $85,000 plus superannuation, based on experience.Contract positions available for 6-12 months, with ongoing opportunities for permanency based on individual skills and contributions.We offer a contribution towards accommodation and travel to Townsville for successful candidates, subject to negotiation.An opportunity to work within a supportive and dynamic environment, promoting our commitment to practical learning, professional growth, and excellence in care.Rostered work arrangements.Key Responsibilities: Drive "gold standard" patient care by guiding veterinary nurses in applying contemporary best practices.Offer dedicated mentorship and advanced clinical training, particularly to those newer to the profession.Cultivate a supportive team environment that encourages open communication and collaborative care.Champion evidence-based practice through exemplary conduct and ongoing education.Qualifications and Experience: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, with RECOVER CPR training and Queensland radiation license (or the ability to obtain these qualifications).Minimum of 3 years of hands-on clinical experience and mentorship in either Referral Medicine or Emergency and Critical Care settings.Exceptional communication, mentorship skills, and a strong team player.Committed to personal and professional development.Membership with VNCA or similar industry bodyRecognised higher level veterinary nursing qualifications such as Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Specialisation) orVeterinary Technician Specialist qualification or equivalentWhy Join Us?
