Advanced clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of illness and injury relevant to the role.Well-developed clinical problem solving skills including conceptual and analytical ability.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including negotiation skills.Experience in quality improvement, its practical application in meeting patient's needs and its relationship to strategic development.Sound knowledge of relevant legislative and health regulating Acts including legislative obligations.Current knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements in the areas of Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety & Health, and how these impact on employment, people management and service delivery.Eligible for / or in possession of a current C or C-A Class drivers licence or other specialised licence class.Position Profile: The Nurse Practitioner – MMH&CADS (NP-MMH&CADS) provides advanced mental health nursing practice using innovative models to patients and their families presenting for emergency and urgent psychiatric care.
The NP-MMH&CADS functions autonomously and collaboratively in an advanced and extended clinical role with other health professionals to diagnose, treat and manage patients' mental health problems.
The NP MMH&CADS uses nursing expertise and leadership that influences and progresses clinical care, policy and collaboration for emergency and urgent psychiatric care patients in WACHS and the region.
This position is under the professional supervision of the Regional Director of Nursing and Midwifery.
