About the role Mater Health is looking for a Nurse Practitioner - Haematology to join the Mater Cancer Care Centre team. This permanent, full-time role is based at our South Brisbane campus. Please note, this role is to commence in January 2025. Salary range: $75.08 - $76.96 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you'll be doing The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a Registered Nurse who delivers an advanced and extended level of nursing practice within the specialty. Working within local and nationally agreed guidelines and protocols, the NP exercises independent judgement to assess, investigate, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate clinical care and the management of patients/clients within their specific area of practice. As a core member of the interdisciplinary team, the NP supports education and development of relevant interdisciplinary team members.
The NP practices both autonomously and in partnership with medical staff and other healthcare professionals. While working closely with the Haematology Medical Team, the NP retains operational and professional reporting to the Nursing and Midwifery Division Clinical Leader.
About you Along with at least 5 years of clinical experience in Haematology Nursing, you will be a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a Master of Nursing – Nurse Practitioner Endorsement/eligibility to obtain endorsement with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Nurse Practitioner.Demonstrated ability to extend clinical responsibility and practice within an advanced scope as a Nurse Practitioner within the Haematology specialty.Demonstrated ability in evaluation of service outcomes with specific indicators and benchmarking and apply appropriate change management strategies as required.Promote contemporary best practice in Haematology Care and integrate relevant research findings into decision making.Ability to work autonomously as well as within a diverse and dynamic multi-disciplinary clinical team.Applications close on Sunday 12th January 2025.
