NT Health have opportunities for experienced Nurse Practitioners or Nurse Practitioner Candidates in the Central Australia, East Arnhem (Nurse Practitioner only) and Top End Regions.
The nurse practitioners in primary health care support and enhance current service delivery as part of the multi-disciplinary team. The role provides primary health care services that focus on the first point of care; providing care across the lifespan; with focuses on health promotion and disease prevention; using population and public health strategies. The role provides clinical nursing leadership to support other members of the team in care delivery through professional development, clinical supervision and mentoring.
Nurse practitioners provide direct clinical care for clients of all ages in a remote community setting including:
Urgent/Emergency care (may include after-hours on-call)Comprehensive health assessment (adults/child)Child and Family HealthChronic conditions managementPreventative and public healthNT Health supports the development of nurse practitioners, by providing the option for nurse practitioner candidates against most nurse practitioner recruitment. The positions are open to registered nurses to apply as a nurse practitioner candidate.
Nurse Practitioner candidates are advanced clinicians, who provide advanced clinical care within primary health care. Nurse practitioner are leaders in this area of practice with relevant post-graduate qualifications and demonstrated experience of advanced nursing practice.
The nurse practitioner candidate will be employed in this senior clinical role, whilst being clinically and professionally supported to undertake a NMBA approved program of study leading to endorsement as a nurse practitioner.
Nurse Practitioner Candidates will need to demonstrate eligibility for enrolment into a program of study to be considered.
