About the roles GEO Healthcare is seeking to employ and support Nurse Practitioner Candidates.
The opportunity aims to develop and produce Nurse Practitioners capable of providing a high standard of clinical care to patients within a complex health environment.
GEO Healthcare will support the development of nursing leaders with the capacity to lead practice and service development, and influence healthcare services within a diverse and unique corrections environment.
On the job:  GEO Healthcare will provide and support a working opportunity at the allocated site upon acceptance of enrolment in a master's degree leading to qualification and endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner.
GEO Healthcare will offer ongoing support during your candidateship and paid working hours.
Upon graduation the candidate will be offered employment at GEO Healthcare as a Nurse Practitioner.

Correctional nursing supports nurse lead primary health care services.
This means you can operate within your full scope of practice.
While there are daily nursing tasks, no day is ever the same.
You gain experience in a variety of situations and are always able to learn something new.
GEO Healthcare is a subsidiary of The GEO Group Australia Pty Ltd – a company providing correctional and healthcare services in Australia for over 30 years.
Students must complete a total of 300 hours of IPP during the program.
This can be undertaken through scheduled and supervised integrated professional practice in the clinical setting where they are employed.
Requirements: Current, unrestricted registration as a Registered (Division 1) Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner's Regulation Agency.
Eligible for entry into an approved program of study leading to qualification and endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
A postgraduate qualification (minimum graduate certificate) in a clinical field relevant to specified practice field.
A minimum of two (2) years full time equivalent practice as a registered nurse in a specified clinical field and two (2) years full time equivalent advanced practice in the last 6 years in the same clinical field.
Course admission criteria: Current general Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) registration as a registered nurse.
A minimum of two (2) years full time equivalent practice as a registered nurse in a specified clinical field and two (2) years full time equivalent advanced practice in the last 6 years in the same clinical field.
A postgraduate qualification (minimum graduate certificate) in a clinical field relevant to specified practice field.
Current employment in an Australian health care service at a minimum of 40 hours/fortnight in an advanced clinical nursing role.
Documentation of clinical practice and support agreements.
Other requirements: Trainees must remain eligible in their enrolled course and demonstrate appropriate progression through their course to continue employment at GEO Healthcare.
Valid and current Australian driver's license.
Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.
