An exciting opportunity has become available for a skilled nursing professional to join the East Arnhem Population and Primary Health Care (PPHC) team as a Child Health Nurse at Umbakumba Health Centre.
As a Child Health Nurse, you will employ specialist nursing experience, skills, and applied knowledge and understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal Health and the principles of Primary Health Care. You will demonstrate knowledge of system improvement, risk management, and clinical information systems with an overarching commitment to safety and quality.
Housing for this position is based in the beautiful seaside town of Alyangula, Groote Eylandt, which is situated roughly 50 kilometres from the Northern Territory mainland in the Gulf of Carpentaria. The Groote Eylandt Archipelago consists of 3 main communities and multiple homelands/outstations, with a predominately Aboriginal population of roughly 2,800 people. Groote Eylandt is a fantastic place to live, learn, and work. It is known for its pristine natural and marine environment, spectacular scenery, Aboriginal art and culture, and some of the best beaches in Australia.
