The role also supports staff entering the perioperative field to gain the relevant skills and experience to transition to independent and confident members of the wider team.
The applicant will also be required to participate in the Perioperative Improvement program and assist in statewide training, such as airway management.
The Nurse Educator also assists with data trends, analysis, and reporting.
The successful candidate will develop strong relationships with several internal and external stakeholders, including the Flying Specialist Services (FSS) which provides consultant level aeromedical emergency coverage and outreach elective outpatient and surgical services to sites across SWHHS.
The applicant will be required to fly with the FSS to develop and provide education programs to our South West sites.
At times the applicant will be required to work clinically to support the FSS where there is a shortage of trained staff.
This position will continue to lead and participate in Perioperative Services multidisciplinary management groups to assist in areas of continuous improvement, development of clinical guidelines, and problem-solving unit issues.
