Nurse Director - Nursing Services (CAHS-wide)Location: Nedlands, PerthUnit/Division: Perth Children's Hospital - CAHS Nursing ServicesThis is a Permanent Full Time appointment.Position Profile:We are seeking an experienced and passionate Nurse Director to join our dedicated team and ensure the delivery of strategic and corporate objectives related to nursing practice and workforce outcomes across CAHS. This is an extraordinary opportunity to enable positive change, grow our exceptional workforce of highly skilled professionals, and strengthen innovative models of care.In partnership with the Executive Director Nursing Services, you will leverage your professional expertise and extensive experience from acute settings to drive strategic initiatives, support operational improvements, and oversee governance frameworks to enhance nursing practices while fostering innovation, collaboration, and quality care outcomes. This encompasses leadership in demand management strategies (patient flow and access) at Perth Children's Hospital, and special projects aligned with organisational goals and values.Your capacity to facilitate growth, support others in reaching their full professional potential will be valued. With operational oversight of the nursing workforce, you will provide nursing leadership for the profession by coordinating and promoting nursing initiatives, research, and monitoring standards of patient care.Your ability to foster a highly collaborative and functional partnership with the Divisional leaders will be pivotal in navigating complex decision making, and delivering services that are responsive to organisational requirements and patient needs now and in the future.Key Responsibilities:Provide expert guidance on nursing governance, compliance with clinical standards, models of care, and strategic initiatives that drive patient flow and capacity management.Act as a liaison between executive leadership and operational teams, promoting collaboration and effective communication across divisions.Coordinate demand management strategies, addressing patient flow from ED to wards, and lead initiatives to optimise hospital capacity.Serve as an escalation point for operational challenges, supporting staff and addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism.Drive quality improvement initiatives and implement evidence-based practice to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.Champion research and innovative programs to enhance nursing capabilities and build a robust workforce of advanced practice and senior nurses.Contribute to corporate board papers and represent CAHS in forums, advocating for innovative practices and contemporary care models.The ideal candidate will have contemporary leadership experience in patient flow, nursing governance, and capacity management in a large, complex acute health service.Strong networking, communication, and influence skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels, including frontline staff, senior leadership, and families will be essential in this role.About our Department:Nursing Services contribute to system-wide decision-making and play a pivotal role in shaping the operational frameworks and strategic initiatives, nursing policies and practices, education and research, that support delivery of outstanding evidence-based paediatric care.We foster a culture of innovation and responsiveness through forums, consultations, and partnerships that address quality, safety, and consumer needs and empower nursing teams to actively participate in service delivery planning and reform, ensuring staff wellness and professional development, and a dynamic and adaptable workforce.Nursing Services also represent CAHS in broader professional, academic, and community contexts, where we contribute to paediatric healthcare policy and practice at the state and national levels in a complex and evolving environment.How to apply:We welcome your application via the 'Apply for Job' button at the bottom of this page.
