Want to know more about the role? We are seeking a Platform (Cloud) Technical Lead to join our Canberra Team on a long-standing client engagement. This is a permanent, full-time role and requires the successful candidate to be willing to work full-time from the client's location in Canberra.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Interact with clients on site to meet more complex requirements of a solution. Escalate unresolved problems and issues to the relevant third parties. Delegate lower complexity tasks to engineers and technicians. Assume responsibility for the co-ordination of the activities of the engineers, in line with performance targets, leading by example and monitoring the quality of engineer's and technician's work when required. Write reports and proposals and complete and maintain project documentation. Act as coach and mentor to more junior Implementation Engineers and Technicians. Included in complex design work, with input to the design expected. Expected to take ownership of relevant technologies according to domain or specialization. Maintain and develop Infrastructure as Code for a range of different systems. Support Java applications running in a Linux environment. Performance Tuning. Work in a diverse team across a wide range of different technologies and systems. Automate processes and build self-service capabilities. Deliver and build services and technologies including but not limited to Microsoft Azure. Lead and coordinate cloud development activities between relevant stakeholders and technical resources – both internal and external. Periodically collaborate to develop and implement operational improvements. Leverage experience with cloud native tools to review metrics and monitor the health/utilization of agency's cloud services. ITQSB certification highly desirable. Maintain skills and contemporary practice in the applicable technology stack. What will make you a good fit for the role? Mandatory Skills / experience:
Demonstrated experience, knowledge and understanding of Cloud Implementations, Microsoft Azure PROTECTED cloud environments is mandatory. ElasticSearch experience. Troubleshooting Java applications in a Linux environment or Java Development experience. Experience creating & maintaining automated deployments. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (preferably Ansible and ARM). Previous team lead experience. Ability to work full-time from client premises in Canberra. Knowledge of the products in some of the following technology stack: Due to the nature of our clients, Australian citizenship and a minimum of Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Australian security clearance are required.
