About headspace headspace is a busy and innovative youth mental health service providing a variety of mental health, medical, sexual and other health-related services as well as vocational, functional groups and social services to young people aged 12 to 25 years and their families.
About the Opportunity The Clinician will provide engagement, assessment, clinical case management & treatment for young people aged 12-25 years accessing headspace Darwin, specifically young people experiencing symptoms of psychosis & co-occurring mental health difficulties.
You will work with the headspace team to deliver youth-friendly, family-inclusive, culturally appropriate services. The role will provide professional and effective therapeutic interventions and support services to young people and their families according to best practice standards. You will provide clear referral pathways for young people to access internal and external services and maintain current data standards and clinical records in a timely and professional manner.
What we are looking for: Approved tertiary qualification (Allied Health) and registration with the relevant regulatory body such as AHPRA or membership of and adherence to professional standards, for example AASW, and a minimum one (1) year experience in youth mental health. Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with young people and their families, providing empathetic and supportive care. Knowledge and experience in delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions and clinical case management. Strong understanding of youth mental health issues, including psychosis and co-occurring disorders. A passion for youth mental health, in particular working with young Aboriginal people and their families, and keen interest in improving service, access, and cultural safety of primary youth services. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
