The Deputy Chief Officer Operations for the Northern Territory Emergency Service (NTES) provides strategic leadership and direction to the Training and Operations sections, coordinating hazard management planning and emergency preparedness to ensure an effective response across the Northern Territory. NT Fire and Emergency Services (NTFES) is made up of the Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service, the Northern Territory Emergency Service, and Bushfires NT. Together, NTFES protects the Territorian community during emergencies including fire, motor vehicle crashes, severe weather, and natural disasters through prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.
