The Chief Officer will lead and manage the Northern Territory Emergency Service (NTES) to ensure exceptional preparedness, capability, and operational response. Provide strategic direction to drive effective emergency management across the territory.
NT Fire and Emergency Services (NTFES) is made up of the Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service, the Northern Territory Emergency Service, and Bushfires NT. Together, NTFES protects the Territorian community during emergencies including fire, motor vehicle crashes, severe weather, and natural disasters through prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.
The Northern Territory Emergency Service is responsible for facilitating Emergency Management planning, raising public awareness of potential disasters and providing a response capability for emergency events through dedicated volunteers, in cooperation with NT and Local Government, as well as community groups.
