Primary Objective: The Project Officer will work in collaboration with Menzies School of Health Research, the Aboriginal Interpreter Service, key stakeholders and the Safety and Quality Manager Katherine Hospital to ensure there is effective communication between Aboriginal patients, their carers and families, multi-disciplinary teams and clinicians across Big Rivers Health Service, to support coordinated and safe care for Aboriginal patients.
The Project Officer will facilitate training in cultural safety for health care providers at Katherine Hospital and will work with the Menzies research team in the collection of quantitative data and patient experiences.
