Reporting to the GM Chapters and working actively to support the NT President and Chapter Council, the role is responsible for services, events and a positive member experience for Chapter members as well as a sense of belonging where Chapter members come together to network, advocate and promote the profession and its impact on the built environment and community.
To succeed in this role, the successful candidate will possess strong relationship-building skills, contemporary thinking, and leadership, as well as tenacity, excellent coordination, communication and planning skills. The role represents the Institute to influence positive change and innovation in the sector and champion the profession.
This role requires the successful candidate to demonstrate collaboration, accountability, and innovation, with the confidence and professionalism to quickly build credibility and effective working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. The role requires resilience and a need to work effectively when faced with time pressures and adversity and remain focused, composed, and optimistic in difficult situations.
Key Responsibilities: Lead Chapter engagement with a range of stakeholders, members and staff to foster strong relationshipsRegularly assess member needs and satisfaction; recommend solutions and implement improvementsBuild and implement strategies to enhance member engagementDevelop and implement the annual operating plan for the ChapterAlign Chapter goals and initiatives with RAIA's national strategic goalsServe as a key voice for architectural policy and advocacy in the State/TerritoryRepresent the Institute in discussions with policymakers, government representatives and other stakeholdersManage and deliver the high-profile annual NT Architectural Awards program and associated events, working closely with the NT staffCo-ordinate day-to-day operations of the Chapter office including some oversight of property issuesPrepare budgets and manage and monitor the performance of the approved budgetsKey Selection Criteria: A qualification in Architecture or a similar discipline within the built environment and/or business management is highly regarded, together with exposure to and engagement in the issues within the built environmentExperience working in membership associations where you can demonstrate previous success in membership engagementExcellent communication skills - both written and verbal as well as excellent presentation skillsProven skills in collaboration and relationship managementSolutions-focused and well developed problem-solving skillsAbility to travel from time to time and evening and after hours is essentialExperience in working with or an understanding of the architecture and built environment sector alongside an empathy with design excellence is preferredTo obtain a copy of the position description please contact People and Culture via email When you apply for this role, please indicate in your covering letter your preference for either 4 or 5 days per week
