About the business and the role
SLR has a great opportunity for an ambitious individual to lead our high performing and friendly Acoustics & Vibration team across New South Wales. This is a full-time position, leading and supporting the great team of Acoustic Consultants and reporting directly to the national Technical Discipline Manager. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Working closely with existing Sydney and Newcastle Local Team Leaders to undertake core business activities such as management of resources, project delivery, and performance to budget.
Development and implementation of a plan for business growth across the existing SLR NSW/ACT geographies, Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, and Canberra.
Proactively identify and engage with new and emerging clients to promote A&V and SLR services.
Support the development, coordination, and communication of A&V business and strategic initiatives.
Be a "person of the people"; engage, inspire, and motivate peers and staff to achieve financial and strategic goals.
Ensure authorisation processes, policies, and practices are communicated and followed (e.g. health and safety, expenses, expenditure, travel, equipment).
Approve Team Leader timesheets, ensuring good timesheet behaviours within the team.
Skills and experience
Our ideal candidate will have a willingness to challenge their capabilities and be an innovative thinker as well as possess:
A relevant bachelor degree (ideally mechanical or electrical engineering, environmental engineering, or science).
An enthusiasm for business development.
Demonstrated commercial awareness.
A proven record of Project Delivery in the Acoustic and Vibration field.
A proven record of team leadership.
Familiarity with noise monitoring equipment and/or 3D computer noise models (SoundPLAN, CadnaA etc.) will be favourable to your application.
Effective communication with colleagues and clients.
Friendly, approachable demeanour and attentive, caring attitude.
