Position Information Wadalba Community School is a comprehensive Kindergarten to Year 12 school located in the Wyong local government area. With 260 students in the primary school, 1,200 in the secondary school, and approximately 210 Aboriginal students, the school offers a diverse and inclusive learning environment supported by 7 Support Unit classes. Strong partnerships with the Parents and Citizens' Association (P&C), active membership in the Ngara Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG), and collaboration within the Tuggerah Lakes Network and Wadalba Learning Community underscore the school's commitment to community engagement and shared success.
Renowned for its innovative teaching and learning practices, Wadalba Community School leverages expertise across its K–12. The Executive Leadership Team includes 15 members: 4 Assistant Principals (Primary), 11 Head Teachers (Secondary), 3 Deputy Principals (Secondary), 1 Deputy Principal (Primary), 1 Deputy Principal (Inclusion and Support), and the Principal, reflecting a robust leadership structure dedicated to supporting student achievement and wellbeing.
Selection Criteria In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary:
Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively to lead staff through the curriculum reform to successfully embed high-quality teaching, learning and assessment practices resulting in improved student outcomes. Demonstrated instructional leadership skills in gathering, analysing, and interpreting school-based and system data to lead the implementation of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework that fosters a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Proven ability to work collaboratively to build positive partnerships with students, families and the community. The ability to work collegially with the executive team to identify, develop and lead initiatives to support the school's strategic directions. General Selection Criteria Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
