Your role
Elevating tenant voice across all areas of Homes NSW work is vital work for a modern social landlord. The Senior Community Engagement Officer will help make this a reality!
These roles are responsible for leading the development, implementation and evaluation of the tenant and stakeholder engagement initiatives to achieve project outcomes, improve services and advance organisational objectives.
What you'll do
As part of the Community Engagement team, you will design and lead engagement initiatives to facilitate community and stakeholder input and take appropriate actions to embed feedback into projects and decision-making processes.
You will lead, collaborate, communicate and deliver a variety of best practice community engagement activities to support different types of projects with a variety of stakeholders.
You will engage positively and regularly with tenants, community members and other stakeholders to identify local issues and impacts that are relevant to project. Your role will include designing processes as well as collecting, compiling and documenting feedback and impacts.
You will prepare communications material to engage positively with the community as well as respond to community enquiries and complaints.
You will proactively identify community engagement issues and risks, then work with the relevant teams to develop and implement mitigations.
You will identify strategic opportunities to elevate tenant voice and improve services for our customers.
You will actively research, analyse, document and report on the community risk profiles of programs to advance business objectives and work with key stakeholders to enhance project outcomes.
What we're looking for
Successful candidates will demonstrate high levels of skills, capabilities, experience and qualifications to meaningfully lead effective engagement processes and contribute to tenant community and project outcomes.
Relevant qualifications and/or experience:
Professional qualifications in community engagement, community development, marketing, public relations, communications, and/or 6 years demonstrated experience successfully working with the community in a property development or infrastructure environment.
Relevant capabilities include:
demonstrated ability to self-manage and provide management support and supervision to a team, demonstrated leadership to support a culture of integrity and professionalism a commitment to maintaining and delivering best-practice customer service The ability to work collaboratively :
Build cooperation and overcome barriers to information sharing and communication across teams and units. As well as sharing lessons learned across teams and units and identifying opportunities to leverage the strengths of others to solve issues and develop better processes and approaches to work.
Actively use collaboration tools, including digital technologies, to engage diverse audiences in solving problems and improving services.
Capability to communicate effectively:
Tailor communication to diverse audiences and clearly explain complex concepts and arguments to individuals and groups.
Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in written, verbal and electronic communication in a variety of formal, structured and informal settings.
Demonstrate well-developed influencing and negotiating skills:
This includes using facts, knowledge and experience to support recommendations that lead to positive and mutually satisfactory outcomes
Anticipate and manage conflict effectively including responding constructively to conflict and disagreements and being open to compromise.
Supporting and coaching team members to develop and demonstrate these skills.
