Where you'll be workingAt all sites within the Northern Sydney Local Health DistrictWhat you'll be doing This position is to perform security duties, not limited to: Identify and report defects, safety hazards or damage to buildings, grounds and equipment and report to the appropriate authority such as Engineering manager, Security Manager or Supervisor. Conduct internal and external patrols of the site as required. Provide assistance with cash, drug and staff escorts as required. Operate security equipment such as CCTV, Intruder and Duress alarms and Access Control systems including Security Identification cards. Exercising duties in accordance with Security legislation in regard to providing Security or the apprehension of absconding patients, participating in restraint whilst doing so under instruction from Clinical professionals. Comply with authorised written and verbal instructions, policy and procedures, Values and Behavioural Charters and the NSW Health Code of Conduct and other security related duties as directed by the Security Supervisor, Security Manager and Corporate Service Managers. Participate in training as required by NSW Health and ensure required competencies are current. Be a member of the Internal Response Team and respond to emergency codes within the hospital. Maintain parking and smoking control and issue infringements as required. People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: Must hold current NSW Security Licence Class 1A, NSW Drivers Licence Class 'C' and a valid Senior First Aid certificate. Demonstrated ability to understand and apply relevant legislation, policy and professional standards in the workplace. Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills and the ability to work as a member of a team in an often stressful environment with the willingness and ability to follow direction from team leaders in both clinical and administrative roles.
