NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd is an Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer.
Located southwest of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 50km from Charters Towers and currently employs around 250 people to run the underground mining, open cut, and ore processing operations.
Charters Towers is close to Townsville and the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, and it offers all the facilities that you would expect in a large regional town.
About the role:
We currently have an experienced Environmental Advisor , this role is Residential/DIDO and based in Charters Towers, QLD on an 8/6 or 5/2, 4/3 roster.
Reporting to the Senior Environmental Advisor, your primary responsibility will be to fulfill compliance and assist with approval requirements for the site in accordance with the Environmental Management Plan and applicable legislative requirements.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
Gather, analyse, interpret, and report environmental data for site.
Assist with Project Management and Environmental Approvals.
Assist with environmental incident investigations.
Ensure site compliance with Environmental Authority.
Provide training, support, and mentorship to the site operational teams.
Actively promote continuous improvement to improve safety, operational efficiencies, and reduce costs.
Conduct environmental inspections and audits.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will ideally possess:
Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or equivalent.
Mine site/consulting experience (Desirable).
Working knowledge of relevant QLD Environmental Legislation.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse and interpret data.
Ability to work as part of a high-performing, tight-knit team.
Effective communication skills and adaptability to change.
